Notre Dame football’s star running back is fully recovered and learned a lesson

Notre Dame’s Jeremiyah Love Prioritizing Health Ahead of 2025 Season

One thing is crystal clear for Notre Dame football heading into the 2025 seasonJeremiyah Love needs to stay healthy. So far, so good, though it’s still early in spring practice.

Playing Through Pain in 2024

The star running back revealed that he powered through the 2024 season while dealing with a Grade 2 MCL sprain, bulldozing defenders despite the setback. While the injury slowed him down in the College Football Playoff, the good news is that it never reached the severity of a tear, meaning surgery was never required.

More importantly, Love won’t miss any spring practices, which is a bigger deal than it might seem at first glance. After an electrifying 2024 campaign, he enters 2025 as a top Heisman Trophy contender.

Holding Back on the Hurdles—For Now

Fans will have to wait until the fall to see Love’s signature hurdle moves again. He’s consciously dialing them back during spring practices, saving them for when it really matters in games. Interestingly, he mentioned that new running backs coach Ja’Juan Seider hasn’t even discussed the topic with him—though Love is smart enough to keep it under wraps on his own.

A Coach Who Lets Players Be Themselves

Speaking about Seider, Love shared that the newest addition to Notre Dame’s coaching staff encourages players to be themselves. And if Jeremiyah Love being himself is any indication, 2025 is going to be something special.
