Gamecocks in the Final Three for Elite 2026 Four-Star Offensive Tackle

Shane Beamer’s Gamecocks Make Final Cut for 4-Star OT J.B. Shabazz

South Carolina is staying aggressive on the recruiting trail, and Shane Beamer is inching closer to securing another major piece for the future of the Gamecocks’ offensive line.

On Saturday, class of 2026 offensive tackle J.B. Shabazz named his final three schools — and South Carolina made the shortlist, joining Tennessee and Ohio State in the race for the talented 6-foot-6, 280-pound prospect out of East Forsyth High School in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

Though Shabazz has not announced a commitment date, South Carolina appears to be in a strong position following his official visit to Columbia the first weekend of June.

“It was all nice. They were all great here,” Shabazz told Gamecock Central. “Got to go to Coach Beamer’s house, talk to the guys, to the coaches, some of the players. We had fun, good fun, shot some basketball, got some ice cream.”

The visit clearly left an impression, thanks in large part to offensive line coach Lonnie Teasley and recruiting assistant Sam Serbay, who have been spearheading Shabazz’s recruitment. Narrowing down his list was no small task — Shabazz holds offers from powerhouse programs including Georgia, Florida, Auburn, Penn State, North Carolina, NC State, Kentucky, Maryland, and West Virginia, among others.

According to the On3 Industry Ranking, Shabazz is currently ranked No. 352 overall and is the No. 27 offensive tackle in the 2026 class. Known for his size, athleticism, and outgoing personality, he brings high potential and charisma — a combo that could make him a fan favorite in Columbia.

The countdown to his decision is on, and Gamecock Nation will be watching closely.
