All Eyes on LaNorris Sellers: Could 2025 Be His Final Run With the Gamecocks?
After a breakout 2024 campaign, South Carolina quarterback LaNorris Sellers enters the 2025 season as one of college football’s most intriguing names—and possibly a future NFL star. With a College Football Playoff berth in reach, the sophomore sensation could be playing his final year in Columbia if he opts to declare for the 2026 NFL Draft.
Sellers is already generating serious buzz among NFL scouts, with many projecting him as a potential top-three quarterback in the 2026 draft class. CBS Sports recently shared insights from scouts who pointed to his rare combination of size and speed as a major advantage. Standing at 6-foot-3 and weighing 240 pounds, Sellers reportedly runs a 40-yard dash in the 4.4–4.5 second range—making him a dual-threat weapon that’s hard to ignore.

While LSU’s Garrett Nussmeier and Clemson’s Cade Klubnik are often at the forefront of early draft conversations, Sellers is quickly climbing into that elite tier. One NFL scout ranked the trio with Nussmeier first, Klubnik second, and Sellers third—labeling him the “wild card” of the group.
Sellers’ numbers in 2024 back up the hype. He posted a 65.6% completion rate, threw for 2,534 yards and 18 touchdowns with just seven interceptions. On the ground, he added another 674 rushing yards and seven scores, cementing himself as a true dual-threat QB.

However, the 2025 season will be pivotal for his draft stock. While his playing style is electrifying, it also exposes him to frequent hits—something NFL teams will monitor closely. If he can stay healthy and show continued growth in decision-making and consistency, Sellers could firmly entrench himself as a top pick in next year’s draft.
The spotlight is on—and LaNorris Sellers might just shine his way into Gamecock history and the NFL’s top tier.
