“Gamecock Legend Alshon Jeffery Throws Epic Back-to-School Bash for SC Kids!”

Alshon Jeffery Hosting Back-to-School Bash for South Carolina Youth

South Carolina football legend and Super Bowl champion Alshon Jeffery is once again giving back to his home state in a big way.

The former Gamecock star, originally from St. Matthews, SC, announced he will host a “Back-to-School Bash” on August 9 at the Calhoun County Sports Complex — an event aimed at supporting local youth as they head into the new school year.

“Come kick off the school year with me at my 2025 Back-to-School Bash,” Jeffery said in a statement to GamecockCentral. “I’ve teamed up with GoodFit Closet for a special day filled with football skills, drills, new backpacks, school supplies, bounce houses, food, and more to help get the year started.”

The event is open to boys and girls ages 6 through 16, with activities running from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., and check-in beginning at 8:30 a.m. Jeffery noted that registration is required, saying:

“Spots are limited! You must be registered to attend.”

Jeffery’s commitment to youth outreach isn’t new — in 2017, he hosted his first free youth football camp and community day at Calhoun County High School, drawing over 600 participants.

During his stellar collegiate career from 2009–2011, Jeffery solidified himself as one of the greatest receivers in South Carolina history. He totaled 183 receptions, 3,042 receiving yards, and 23 touchdowns, ranking:

  • 3rd in career receptions
  • 2nd in receiving yards
  • Tied for 1st in touchdown catches
  • 1st in 100-yard receiving games (12)
  • 6th in yards per reception (16.6)
  • 3rd in consecutive games with a reception (36)

As a true freshman in 2009, Jeffery earned Freshman All-American and Freshman All-SEC honors, highlighted by standout performances like a three-touchdown game vs. Kentucky and a 161-yard outing vs. Vanderbilt.

Now, Jeffery is channeling that same energy off the field — ensuring the next generation in his community is equipped and inspired for the school year ahead.
