“Coach Davis is one of the greatest humans that I’ve ever talked to,” Gray said. “He gives off a father figure… [LSU] checks all the boxes.”
Ohio State Buckeyes
The Buckeyes made an impression with their player development and attention to mental health.
“It’s great to have a head coach that understands these are still kids… that’s huge,” said Gray, referencing Ryan Day’s approach.
Tennessee Volunteers
Tennessee earned high marks for its strong team bond and program trajectory under Josh Heupel.
“They’re only scratching the surface… I can see them continuing the uptrend,” Gray commented.
Clemson Tigers
Clemson drew praise for its stability and the addition of respected offensive line coach Matt Luke.
“Coach Swinney does everything the right way,” Gray said. “And Coach Luke is a fantastic human being.”
South Carolina Gamecocks
Don’t count out the Gamecocks just yet. South Carolina has built the longest and most consistent relationship with Gray — something he hasn’t forgotten.
“They have been the longest relationship possible… even when they were a five- or six-win team, they never changed their culture,” he noted. “Coach Beamer is amazing—someone you’d want to play for.”
