Five-star forward Oliviyah Edwards is officially set to return to Columbia for an official visit with South Carolina women’s basketball—and she made her reasoning crystal clear:
“Coach Staley turns bigs into beasts,” Edwards posted on social media Friday, revealing her plans to visit the Gamecocks the weekend of September 19.
The 6-foot-4 standout from Washington has been to Columbia before. She took an unofficial visit last season and was in the crowd when South Carolina hosted LSU—an interesting trend, as multiple unofficials have coincided with LSU games.

Edwards, ranked No. 4 nationally and the top power forward in the Rivals Industry Rankings, has already locked in an official visit to Tennessee and taken one to Southern Cal. LSU and others are also expected to host her soon.

Nicknamed “Big Oh,” Edwards is a high-level athlete with size, bounce, and an expanding offensive game. She’s even dunked in a game, and her shooting range is stretching out past the arc. With elite rebounding, shot-blocking, and the ability to defend multiple positions, she’s one of the most versatile prospects in the 2025 class.
Edwards previously stated she plans to announce her college decision after wrapping up her official visits, aiming to commit before or early into her senior high school season.
South Carolina remains in the mix alongside programs like Duke, LSU, Florida State, Notre Dame, USC, North Carolina, Tennessee, Washington, and Florida, who were all named in her top 10 last summer.
