“Ex-Gamecock Star Dominates WNBA — Snags Player of the Week in Epic Hot Streak!”

Aliyah Boston Named Eastern Conference Player of the Week After Leading Fever’s Hot Streak

Aliyah Boston continues to prove why she’s one of the WNBA’s rising stars. The league announced Tuesday that the Indiana Fever standout and former South Carolina Gamecock was named the Eastern Conference Player of the Week — a nod to her dominant play as she extended her streak of consecutive double-doubles to six.

Boston led the Fever to three straight wins last week, part of an impressive five-game win streak for the team. During that stretch, the third-year post player averaged 16.7 points, 11.7 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 2 steals per game, while shooting 54.5% from the field and hitting 14 free throws.

Her season-long performance has been just as impressive. Boston is averaging 15.3 points, 8.3 rebounds, 3.8 assists, one steal, and one block per game in 2025, along with 15 double-doubles on the year.

“She’s been an anchor for us — on both ends of the floor,” Fever head coach Christie Sides said previously. “Her growth is obvious, and her leadership has taken a huge leap.”

Boston’s consistency has kept Indiana firmly in the playoff hunt, even as superstar rookie Caitlin Clark has missed a significant portion of games due to injury. Despite that, the Fever currently hold the fifth-best record in the league, with BetMGM ranking them fourth in WNBA title odds — an incredible rise for a franchise that was rebuilding just months ago.

Boston’s elite play isn’t anything new. For the third consecutive summer, she earned a starting spot in the WNBA All-Star Game, continuing to live up to the hype since being selected No. 1 overall in the 2023 Draft.

Now in her third year, Boston has the Fever on track for their best season in a decade, and a potential return to the postseason would mark the first time since 2015–16 that Indiana has made back-to-back playoff appearances.

With Clark’s return on the horizon and Boston at the peak of her game, Indiana looks like a legitimate contender — and Boston is right at the center of it all.
