After Monday night’s 7-4 defeat, the Dodgers will try to turn the tide Tuesday night, sending right-hander Emmet Sheehan (3-2, 3.00 ERA) to the mound. He’ll be matched up against Angels righty Victor Mederos (0-0, 4.50 ERA), who steps in for former Dodger Tyler Anderson after the veteran was scratched with back stiffness.
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts has made some adjustments to the lineup. Will Smith will get a night off, with Dalton Rushing taking over behind the plate. Teoscar Hernández returns to action after sitting out Monday’s game. Roberts also recently emphasized that his team “has to play with more urgency” as the Padres close in on the NL West race.
