“Man City’s Nightmare: Savinho Injury Adds to Guardiola’s Mounting Crisis in Shocking Spurs Defeat!”

Manchester City Sweating Over Savinho’s Fitness After Painful Exit Against Spurs

Manchester City have been dealt another potential blow as they anxiously await news on the fitness of Savinho, who was stretchered off in the 63rd minute during their League Cup clash against Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday. The Brazilian winger looked visibly distressed after an awkward fall appeared to injure his right ankle.

The incident unfolded as Savinho attempted a cross, seemingly landing heavily on his right ankle and immediately going down in pain. The 20-year-old stayed on the ground for several minutes, and medical staff ultimately called for a stretcher to carefully escort him off the field. Academy talent Jacob Wright stepped in to replace him as Pep Guardiola’s side faced further disruption.

The bad luck didn’t end there for City, as Manuel Akanji was forced out just before kickoff due to a calf strain picked up during warm-up. With a weekend fixture against Bournemouth approaching, Guardiola now has a mounting selection dilemma, particularly on the wings.

Several players are already under fitness clouds. Jack Grealish remains a game-time decision, while Jeremy Doku is likely sidelined until closer to the international break. Neither Grealish nor Doku made the squad for the Tottenham match.

Adding to City’s woes, star players Kevin De Bruyne, Kyle Walker, and Oscar Bobb are all recovering from injuries, with uncertain return dates. To complicate matters, Rodri, fresh off a Ballon d’Or win, is not expected to play again this season.

After facing Bournemouth, City’s relentless schedule continues with a Champions League match against Sporting Lisbon on Tuesday, followed by a tough away game against Brighton & Hove Albion just before the international break. Guardiola’s squad depth will be truly tested in the coming weeks.
