Xavi is finally ready to promote Barcelona’s dynamic midfielder to the first team

Barcelona youngster Fermin Lopez is a first-team player by all accounts and will no longer be part of the Barca Athletic set-up, according to Javi Miguel of AS.

Reports suggest that back-up coach Rafa Marques could forget about Fermin as Xavi is determined to keep him as a first-team dynamic forever.

The midfielder took advantage of his absence from the first team to help Barca Athletic as much as possible.

However, thanks to his outstanding performances under Xavi, he was selected as a first-team player and this was confirmed last week when his contract extension until 2027 was officially signed.

Fermin’s breakthrough season.

It all started with a strong pre-season under Xavi la Fermin, with the 20-year-old scoring a stunning goal in a friendly against Real Madrid in the United States.

Since then, the La Masia graduate has remained dynamic in the first team and has also played for the reserves when the opportunity arose.

However, Fermin’s presence in the senior squad has increased in recent weeks, with performances against Shakhtar Donetsk and Real Madrid last weekend.

And now Fermin is a main team player in every sense of the word. The imminent return from injury of Pedri and Frenkie de Jong is unlikely to affect his place in the manager’s plans.

Xavi met him and explained that he no longer plays for the reserve team and that the staff consider him a first team player.

Fermin is knocking on the door of the national team

Spain coach Luis de la Fuente has not overlooked Fermin’s performances in Barcelona’s first team and is likely to call him up for the next international season.

The La Roja manager was in attendance at Saturday’s Clásico and would have seen the 20-year-old’s game that afternoon.

Fermin has appeared in a total of nine matches for Barcelona this season, scoring two goals and setting up another goal.

And from now on you will grow taller.
