Manchester City and England star Jack Grealish shared a heartfelt moment with Aston Villa fans via video call ahead of Villa’s Champions League game against Club Brugge.
Villa fans, despite a 1-0 loss on Wednesday after a controversial penalty call against Tyrone Mings, kept spirits high on their second Champions League away match this season. Following the game, a group of Villa supporters FaceTimed Grealish, who left Villa in 2021 to join Manchester City.
In a video posted on X, fans sang one of Grealish’s favorite Villa chants: “Take me on up to the spirit in the sky. It’s where I want to go when I die. When I die and they lay me to rest, I’m going to go on the p*** with Jack Grealish.” Grealish, smiling back at his former club’s supporters, clearly enjoyed the familiar tune.
Grealish spent nearly 20 years with Villa, growing from a young academy player to a star before his record-breaking move to the Etihad. Since joining City, he has added three Premier League titles and a Champions League trophy to his achievements under Pep Guardiola.
