QB Jared Goff hit back 4-Word Message for Doubting fans with little faith for the team.

Live Report: Goff and Williams Address Doubters as Lions Eye Playoff Push

The Detroit Lions may have hit a bump in the road with their 48-42 loss to the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, December 15, but quarterback Jared Goff has a clear message for skeptics doubting the Lions’ resilience: “We’ll be just fine.”

Goff: “The Sky Isn’t Falling”

Speaking at a postgame press conference, Goff acknowledged the end of their winning streak while dismissing any overreaction to the defeat.

“I’m sure there will be a ton of stuff written about the sky falling, but no, internally, we’re good,” Goff said confidently.

Reflecting on the game, Goff admitted the loss was disappointing.

“It sucks to lose. We would’ve loved to win every game out, all the way through the Super Bowl,” he explained. “But I hope we can look back on this one as a good learning lesson, move on, and use what we learned to help us win these next three before the playoffs.”

Goff sees the loss as a potential turning point, emphasizing the importance of “handling it the right way.”

“If you recognize where your shortcomings were and get better, then sure, it can be a great thing for a team,” he added. “I think there will be a ton of urgency from our guys—especially now—with both Minnesota and Philadelphia on our heels.”

Williams: “We Don’t Hear the Noise”

Wide receiver Jameson Williams echoed Goff’s confidence when he spoke to the media on Thursday, December 19.

“I really don’t see the noise,” Williams stated. “The whole game plan for us is just to bounce back and focus up on Chicago this week.”

Williams stressed the team’s commitment to tuning out negativity and keeping their eyes on the prize.

“I’m pretty sure nobody in the locker room is worried about what people are saying or even seeing it because we are just so focused right now,” he said.

A Lesson in Resilience

Both Goff and Williams highlighted how challenging it is to win consistently in the NFL.

“It’s hard to win NFL games no matter what team is in front of you or what coach is on the other sideline,” Williams pointed out. “We’re just trying to make it big for us to bounce back and get back on our winning track.”

The Lions, now 12-2, remain atop the NFC standings, but as Goff emphasized, the focus is on finishing strong. With three games left in the regular season, including key matchups against Chicago, Minnesota, and Philadelphia, the Lions are determined to keep their playoff momentum alive.
