Indeed, Larson’s dominance was on full display, finishing 3.148 seconds ahead of his nearest competitor, Australian racer James McFadden, as the checkered flag waved. Larson celebrated in style with his signature wing dance, soaking in the moment of triumph.

2024 has been a standout year for Larson, even by his lofty standards. The Hendrick Motorsports driver secured six wins in the NASCAR Cup Series and came tantalizingly close to a spot in the Championship 4 at Phoenix Raceway. Additionally, his ambitious attempt at the legendary “double” — competing in both the Indianapolis 500 and Coca-Cola 600 on the same day — was thwarted only by the weather.

While the debut was a resounding success, Brad Sweet believes there’s room to grow the series, especially by attracting more big-name racers. Despite expanding to 16 full-time teams in just two years, Sweet is focused on building the event’s star power and international appeal.
“I’d like to see more drivers supported, whether it be Americans or East Coast Australians. We proved that we can do this, get the crowd, but we definitely want to get more star power to come support the event.”
With 61 races planned across 36 U.S. locations in 2025, High Limit Racing is poised for a significant expansion. Sweet emphasized the importance of refining the experience:
“Build on the momentum, keep building the purse, keep building the atmosphere of the event, focus on the things that did good, and change the things that didn’t work.”

Following his victory in Australia, Larson will now head to the Tulsa Shootout, where he is set to compete in all four events.
