Kevin De Bruyne provides an update about the recovery process after hamstring surgery.

The Man City midfielder is currently out of action as he continues his rehabilitation following hamstring surgery to repair his troublesome hamstring injury.

He was injured in Manchester City’s opening day win over Burnley at Turf Moor.

Speaking to Belgian media VTM as relayed by HLN, De Bruyne detailed his recovery process.

He explained that he will have a scan next week to check on his recovery progress.

He explained: “There will be a big test next week and then we will know how the injury is progressing.

Everything is going according to plan.

In fact, it’s going very well.

The Man City midfielder also detailed his hamstring injury.

He compares his job to maintaining a car.

He added: “It is important that I heal this wound 100%.

There are many cracks.

Those hamstrings can tear at any time.

It is – on paper – a wet rag.

I ended up doing a major service after 700 games, just like you would do on your car.

The Belgian international worked hard last season to play despite injury and help Pep Guardiola’s side win the treble.

His contribution was vital in the three-time winner’s historic campaign.

His goal at the Bernabeu created the basis for the European champions to defeat Real Madrid in the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League.

He also scored 2 goals against Arsenal in Man City’s important 4-1 victory in the Premier League.

The victory gave the champions the boost they needed to lead Arsenal to the Premier League title.

As things stand, De Bruyne is not expected to return to the Manchester City squad until the new year, due to recovery time.
