Although Liverpool might try to entice Levi Colwill to leave Chelsea by offering to play him in his preferred role, Chelsea will flatly refuse to sell the defender.
According to information provided to Anfield Watch, the England international is not for sale, and the Blues are sticking to their guns.
Liverpool showed interest in Colwill during the summer transfer window, and according to new reports, the Reds are still interested in the defender even though the 20-year-old recently signed a contract extension through 2029.
Anfield Watch has learned from sources that the London team plans to retain their player for the foreseeable future and will not consider any offers for him.
Although Chelsea is adamant that Colwill cannot be purchased, there is a chance that things could turn around if things don’t get better.
It’s believed that Jurgen Klopp’s team may try to take advantage of Colwill’s continued usage away from his natural position at left-back by offering him a central defensive role at Anfield.
In Chelsea’s 20 Premier League games thus far in 2023–2024, the former Brighton loanee has participated in 14, of those appearances on the left side of defense.
If Colwill’s lack of playing time at center back at the club level prevents him from competing in important tournaments like the Euros, it could further damage his happiness at Stamford Bridge.
Moreover, there may be more doubt about Colwill’s future at Stamford Bridge if Chelsea are unable to qualify for the European competition.
Chelsea has nonetheless classified Colwill as “not for sale,” despite possible Financial Fair Play (FFP) issues.
