Arsenal reportedly could make a last-minute swoop for the 23-year-old star, which puts West Ham in a difficult situation.
For both West Ham and Arsenal, the current summer transfer window has been extremely busy.
Edson Alvarez, James Ward-Prowse, and Konstantinos Mavropanos are new additions for the Hammers under manager David Moyes, while Declan Rice, Kai Havertz, and Jurrien Timber are new arrivals for the Arsenal under manager Mikel Arteta.
It could be argued, however, that the two managers still need to bolster their squads even more before next week’s transfer deadline.
And it appears that both teams might be interested in the same player.
West Ham is in trouble as Fabrizio Romano reports that Arsenal may make a last-minute move for a 23-year-old star.
The Gunners appear to be a potential rival for Ajax star Mohammed Kudus, and the Hammers may have to compete with them.
Fabrizio Romano, a renowned Italian football journalist, provided the following justification for his reluctance to rule out Arsenal making a late move for Kudus.
“Let’s see what transpires with Arsenal as well. Because Arsenal requested Kudus in June, they then spent a lot of money on Kai Havertz and every other player they signed this summer, including [Jurrien] Timber and Declan Rice. Therefore, nothing at Arsenal was going to continue, but never say never. Ajax chose to wait and reject West Ham’s offers as a result. “.
With his pace, power, and genuine explosiveness, the Ghanaian international is exactly the type of player we need.
To sign Kudus, though, may prove difficult for the Hammers given that Arsenal is snooping around.
And given the most recent Fabrizio Romano transfer update, West Ham ought to make sure that we close this one as soon as we can, before the Gunners even have a chance to sabotage the deal.
