With only one week left in the summer transfer window, Barcelona prodigy Ansu Fati is still facing an uncertain future with the team.
The 20-year-old has dropped down the pecking order under Xavi Hernandez, who has so far this season been passed over in favor of other young talents like Lamine Yamal and Ez Abde.
Although Fati hasn’t shown any signs of wanting to leave despite his situation, Barcelona has been linked with a sale in order to solve their Financial Fair Play and registration problems.
Ansu Fati will be pursued by Arsenal.
Arsenal has reportedly been keeping an eye on Fati’s situation at Barcelona for some time, and according to Football Transfers, the Gunners are prepared to increase their interest in the La Masia prodigy.
Arsenal is ready to make a serious push for Fati’s signing in the final week of the transfer window after reportedly speaking with his agent, Jorge Mendes, in the past.
As previously mentioned, Ansu wants to stay at Barça, but Mendes will meet with club officials on Friday, and both parties will try to persuade the 20-year-old to choose to leave.
The report claims that Barcelona will request a fee of €58.5 million in the event of a permanent transfer, which could prove to be a barrier given how much money Arsenal has already spent this summer.
As long as Ansu’s full salary is paid by the team from north London, the La Liga champions would be willing to approve a loan departure for him.
In any case, if the aforementioned report is accurate, Arsenal seems committed to signing Fati.
In addition to Arteta’s team, Spurs and Aston Villa are rumored to be interested in Ansu, but the youngster is adamant that he wants to stay in Catalonia.
