In an effort to prevent Thomas Partey from suffering an injury setback ahead of Chelsea clash, Arsenal has made a significant decision in his favor .

After the Arsenal injury return ahead of Chelsea, Mikel Arteta reiterates a crucial Thomas Partey choice.

News from Arsenal: Thomas Partey, who has been sidelined with a groin injury for over a month, played 15 minutes against Manchester City.

On October 8, 2023, in London, England, Thomas Partey of Arsenal plays in the Premier League game between Arsenal FC and Manchester City at Emirates Stadium.

Once more, Mikel Arteta and Arsenal are taking no chances with Thomas Partey’s health during the break.

The 30-year-old made his comeback for the Gunners off the bench in the 1-0 victory over Manchester City after traveling to represent Ghana in their two friendlies against Mexico and the USA.

Along with fellow subs Gabriel Martinelli, Kai Havertz, and Takehiro Tomiyasu, Partey played a key role in the goal as Havertz touched down on Martinelli’s forward pass into the path of the Japan international, who then put the ball in the back of the net via Nathan Ake.

Partey had been sidelined for the previous five weeks due to a groin injury sustained in training just days prior to the 3-1 victory over Manchester United at Emirates Stadium.

Ben White was moved back out to right-back in his place, replacing Partey, and Gabriel Magalhaes and Oleksandr Zinchenko were promoted to the starting XI during his absence.

Declan Rice and Jorginho have been used in the holding role in place of his absence at full-back, with the latter starting last weekend’s match against Man City.

Due to Partey’s history of injuries and the fact that he will miss the AFCON in early 2024, Arsenal has another reason not to sell Jorginho in addition to the most recent rumors surrounding a January transfer to Barcelona.

Keeping Jorginho in the summer was crucial given the links to Serie A and Turkey.

Arsenal has once again decided to make a significant decision about the former Atletico Madrid player during the international break due to his importance to the team and his ongoing fitness problems.

As reported by X (formerly Twitter) user @OsmanZtheGooner, Simon Murphy, the lead physiotherapist at Arsenal, once again joined Chris Hughton’s team for their upcoming matches. Murphy previously traveled with Partey on Ghana duty earlier this year.

Reiterating this choice is in response to a report that Arsenal sent to the Ghana FA last year regarding how to utilize the midfielder most effectively as he was recovering from an injury.

Throughout Partey’s time in north London, the close ties between Ghana and Arsenal were evident, but after Partey’s most recent injury, they took a slight hit.

Arsenal was understandably trying to prevent Partey’s issue from becoming public because the Man United game was scheduled to take place right before the September international break.

However, this was made more challenging because his country required an explanation as to why the Gunners were not releasing him for international duty.

The fact that Partey had sustained an injury just 48 hours before a crucial game was therefore made clear upon the announcement of their squad and the provision of an update; however, it appears that there is little objection to Murphy joining Partey in Ghana camp.
