According to reports, Tottenham and Aston Villa are expected to compete with Arsenal for the services of Barcelona winger Ansu Fati.
Due to their ongoing financial difficulties, Barcelona may be forced to sell the 20-year-old, who is thought to be a top target for the Premier League trio.
A week ago, Xavi stated that Fati is both a part of the club’s history and the “present and future” of Barcelona. However, reports now indicate that a sizable offer might cause him to move on.
When he was just 16 years old, the winger made his debut for Barcelona, and everyone has predicted that he will go on to become a superstar. His development has been hampered, though, by injuries and a lack of regular playing time.
For the Spanish powerhouses, Fati has made a total of 111 appearances, during which time he has scored 29 goals and provided 10 assists.
Arsenal is reportedly pushing to sign the young player before the transfer window closes because Mikel Arteta is rumored to be a big fan.
There is certainly no shortage of interest in Fati’s acquisition as Tottenham has also been mentioned in connection with a move for him in the past.
Aston Villa plan a triple Barca raid.
The Hard Tackle quotes Spanish reports as saying that Aston Villa and Tottenham are both seriously interested in signing Fati.
According to reports, a deal could be reached for €50 (£42.09 million), as Barcelona looks to raise some much-needed transfer capital on their own.
It’s no secret that the Catalans are having financial problems right now, and as a result, they might let go of a number of their players before the transfer window closes.
From Unai Emery’s perspective, this is good news as he has already bolstered his Aston Villa team this summer with quality players like Pau Torres, Moussa Diaby, Nicolo Zaniolo, and Youri Tielemans.
As the Villains get ready to play in Europe for the first time since 2010, Fati could help them advance this season.
It’s interesting to note that Fati isn’t the only Barcelona player Aston Villa is interested in signing this summer. Recently, the Midlands club has been linked with both winger Abde Ezzalzouli and left-back Marcos Alonso.
Considering this, it will be intriguing to see if Aston Villa, Tottenham, or Arsenal do make a formal offer for Fati in the coming days.
