Arsenal: All time five famous wins against Fulham.

Similar to last season, Fulham will travel across London on Saturday in an effort to stop our unbeaten start to the season. If last season’s game is any indication, we can expect another exciting afternoon of football.

One of many memorable games between the teams, including several in which we defeated the Cottagers with sizable margins of victory, was that 2-1 victory from a year ago.

In order to refresh your memory, we looked back through the records and found five memorable matches from the Premier League’s past:.

23 February 2002.

Arsenal defeated Fulham 4-1.

With this resounding victory over the Cottagers, Arsene Wenger’s team kept up its title defense while extending their unbeaten streak to 14 games. Five minutes in, Steve Marlet quickly canceled out a rare Lauren goal, but that only seemed to energize us.

On the fifteenth minute, Patrick Vieira slammed a shot past Edwin van der Sar to restore our lead, and Thierry Henry sprinted away to make it 3-1 at the half. Just before the hour mark, he added to his tally with a brace when Lauren’s header bounced off the downed Frenchman and into the net after striking a post. Lauren celebrated carefreely on the pitch after helping his team move into second place.

On August 25, 2005.
Arsenal defeated Fulham 4-1.

Claus Jensen gave the guests the lead with a beautiful curler from the edge of the box on minute 22 after Tony Warner saved Lauren’s penalty attempt.
This game had all the makings of one to forget.
Following Pascal Cygan’s goal ten minutes later, Brian McBride had two excellent chances to give Fulham the lead back but failed to take either one.

However, we took advantage of those missed opportunities when Henry skillfully intercepted a lovely Jose Antonio Reyes pass, tucked the ball home, and then added a second by dinking over Warner. Lately, Cygan added another goal to seal the deal. Two of his three goals for the Gunners came on this particular day.

May 9, 2010.
Fulham was defeated 4-0 by Arsenal.

In order to satisfy our fans and keep us ahead of Tottenham Hotspur in the standings, we finished the 2009–10 season with a convincing victory. We were up 3-0 at the half as Fulham rested a number of their star players in preparation for the Europa League final.

After taking advantage of Mark Schwarzer’s hesitation to score, Andriy Arshavin gave us the lead before Robin van Persie scored on his second attempt. Carlos Vela chipped in our fourth goal after Chris Baird effectively ended the game with an own goal after 37 minutes.

1 January 2019.

Arsenal beat Fulham 4-1.

At Emirates Stadium, we humiliated Fulham to kick off the new year. Granit Xhaka scored the first goal by sneaking into the box undetected, and on the hour mark, Alexandre Lacazette finished off a superb team move to put us on the verge of an easy victory.

However, Aboubakar Kamara scored to give the visitors hope. However, Aaron Ramsey gave us the lead with 11 minutes remaining. The final goal for Unai Emery’s Gunners came from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who saw a deflected shot find the back of the net.

On August 27th, 2022.

Arsenal defeats Fulham 2-1.

As we overcame a deficit to defeat Fulham and make it four victories in a row to start the season, Gabriel recovered to emerge as the game’s hero. After a scoreless first half, Aleksandr Mitrovic gave the Cottagers the lead on 56 minutes by catching our Brazilian defender napping in his own area.

Martin Odegaard, however, used some deft footwork to get a shot off that was deflected past former Gunner Bernd Leno. Leno then parried a Gabriel Martinelli corner into a crowded area, which fell perfectly for Gabriel to snatch all three points with four minutes remaining on what was Mikel Arteta’s 100th Premier League game in charge.
