Thomas Partey of Arsenal will miss several weeks of action.

The news that Thomas Partey is anticipated to be out until after the October international break, per Football Insider, has dealt a severe injury blow to Arsenal.

Prior to Arsenal’s 3-1 victory over Manchester United just before the international break, the 30-year-old sustained a groin injury.

The midfielder was expected to recover quickly, according to Arteta.

Partey’s availability for selection is still “a few weeks away,” the Spanish manager stated at his pre-game press conference on Friday.

The Ghanaian international is reportedly facing a further four weeks on the sidelines, which would put his return in mid-October, following the international break.

He will miss Sunday’s trip to Goodison Park.

On Friday, Arteta said:.

Partey will miss not only the match against Everton on Sunday but also the matches against PSV and Lens in the Champions League, Tottenham, Bournemouth, and Manchester City in the Premier League, as well as the Carabao Cup match against Brentford.

Since moving from Atletico Madrid to the Emirates Stadium in October 2020, Partey has struggled with injuries. The Ghanaian has appeared in 188 games across all competitions, registered 12 assists in addition to 16 goals, and has helped the Gunners qualify for the Champions League for the first time in several seasons.

bad injury luck.

When the North Londoners finished second in the league table the previous season, they were one of the team’s standout performers and came very close to winning the Premier League championship. The midfielder made 40 appearances across all competitions, scoring three goals.

Partey has made four appearances for Mikel Arteta’s team, which has collected 10 out of a possible 12 points and is still unbeaten in the premier league.

By defeating Manchester City on penalties following a 1-1 tie, he contributed to Arsenal winning the Community Shield.

Partey has shown this season that he is a versatile player who can play a variety of positions, including defensive midfielder, central midfielder, attacking midfielder, and inverted right-back.

Following the arrival of summer signing Declan Rice from West Ham, Arteta used Partey in the unfamiliar right-back position.

Rice, Martin degaard, and Kai Havertz are the midfield trio that the former Man City assistant manager prefers this season.
