Neville cites the only Arsenal players Guardiola would choose for Man City.

At Wembley Stadium, Gary Neville serves as a Sky Sports analyst.

Martin Odegaard of Arsenal is an attacking midfielder who Gary Neville thinks Pep Guardiola would adore to sign if given the chance.

The international player from Norway, who had previously played for Real Madrid, joined the Gunners on loan in 2021 before making a permanent transfer the following year.

He has been a crucial part of their recent success.

At the start of the previous campaign, Mikel Arteta gave Odegaard the captain’s armband for Arsenal.

In the Premier League last season, he went on to score 15 goals and provide eight assists.

The 24-year-old is off to a strong start this year as well, scoring twice in his first five league contests.

After winning four and drawing one of their first five games, Arsenal is currently tied for second place in the standings.

However, Manchester City has had a flawless start.

Only Guardiola’s team has won each of its first five league games, and they lead the league with a two-point advantage.

Despite this, Neville believes that if given the chance, Guardiola would take one player from Arsenal to Man City.

Neville: Odegaard is “smooth and silky.”.

Neville responded, “Odegaard, I’m not saying he’s as good as David Silva or Kevin De Bruyne yet, he’s got a bit to go in his career,” when asked which players this season had most impressed him on his Sky Sports podcast.

However, he has reached a stage where his playing is incredibly silky and smooth when I watch him.

He’s always been a talented player, I knew that. But now we’re talking about something much more than just talent; this is real class.

“Pep Guardiola, I believe, would take that player out of this Arsenal team in a heartbeat if you asked him to.

He’s a gorgeous player to watch, so he would definitely make that Man City team.

He continues to get better every time I watch him.”.

Odegaard can undoubtedly be categorized as a “class” player, and he still has time to improve.

However, Odegaard joining Man City anytime soon has virtually no chance of happening.

As TEAMtalk previously reported, the Norwegian star should stay at the Emirates for the foreseeable future as the Gunners are close to tying him down to a new contract.

Odegaard will be hoping to help Arsenal win the league this year in an effort to end their 20-year title drought.
