After overcoming Man City’s skepticism, Pep Guardiola asserts that Julian Alvarez is “almost undroppable.”.

Pep Guardiola, manager of Manchester City, discussed Julian Alvarez’s contribution despite his tardy return to Manchester.

After two assists against West Ham, Pep Guardiola claimed that Julian Alvarez is now practically impossible to remove from the Manchester City team.

Alvarez has the unenviable task of competing with City’s prolific goal scorer Erling Haaland for the position of primary striker, and despite making a ton of appearances in his first season there, he was unable to unseat the No. 9. However, injuries and departures have provided the Argentine with a chance to find another way into the team, and he is seizing it.

Alvarez has now started each of City’s five Premier League games so far this season, and he provided assists for both of the team’s opening two goals in the 3-1 victory.

Even though Jeremy Doku handled the majority of the first task, he made a significant contribution to the second, and Guardiola is drawn to him because he continues to play a role in goals.

Given that he had begun playing for Argentina in high-altitude Bolivia in the middle of the week and had only returned on Thursday, another 90 minutes was all the more impressive.

Due to his condition, there were concerns about his availability for the West Ham match.

Despite these concerns, he insisted he was fit to play and duly demonstrated how capable he was at the London Stadium.

Guardiola said, “We had concerns because he arrived from Bolivia with jet lag and was so exhausted the day before yesterday.

“He felt better, and when we spoke with him last night, he said he felt good.

“He’s learning a lot about how to move in the pockets, he poses a threat with goals and assists, and he has a strong work ethic.

We are thrilled that the club invited him the previous year.

“[Ilkay] Gundo[gan] left, and regrettably Kevin [De Bruyne’s] injury gives him his chance, which he is taking.

Now, he is almost impossible to drop.”.
