Other players sped over to split the pair apart after the Forest man fell to the ground.
Rodri received a straight red card from referee Anthony Taylor for acting violently, which will keep him out of City’s next three games.
Prior to going to Wolves on September 30, Pep Guardiola’s team plays Newcastle on Wednesday.
For City’s Champions League match against RB Leipzig on October 4, Rodri will be available.
The former Atletico Madrid player will be compelled to miss the Premier League match against Arsenal on October 8, which is crucial.

The first goal came from Phil Foden in the seventh minute.
Kyle Walker was selected by Rodri with a beautiful pass inside the box. The ball was pulled back for Foden by the lightning-quick right-back, who smashed it into the bottom corner.
Erling Haaland’s goal off of Matheus Nunes’ cross made it 2-0 shortly after.
City dominated the game for the remainder of the half, and it appeared as though they would easily score another three points.
Disaster, however, struck shortly into the second half when they were reduced to 10 men.

The English midfielder sent Rodri to the ground shortly after the second half began when Forest moved the ball forward.
Before they collided in the corner, the City star rose to his feet and recovered possession of the ball.
When Gibbs-White attempted to win the ball back, Rodri did not respond well and squared up to him before putting his hands on his neck.
As Rodri was given a straight red card by referee Anthony Taylor, Gibbs-White collapsed to the ground in agony.
