Injury updates for Man City vs. Brighton: Three questionable, four out of Premier League match.
For the game this weekend, Manchester City is only anticipated to be without one player.
This weekend’s Premier League matchup between Manchester City and Brighton & Hove Albion will see Rodri return, and Pep Guardiola will be happy to have him.
Due to his absence due to suspension, City lost to Wolverhampton Wanderers, Newcastle United, and Arsenal in the last three domestic games.
The champions are a much weaker prospect without the ex-Villarreal, and Rodri’s absence was felt acutely throughout that three-game set.
Rodri’s return, however, leaves Kevin De Bruyne as the lone absentee in the City squad; the Belgian is anticipated to be sidelined until the new year due to a chronic hamstring injury.
In the victory over Italy on Tuesday night, John Stones, who has yet to start a Premier League game this year, played 63 minutes for England.
He is expected to be available for selection on Saturday at the Etihad.
As for Brighton, they have a lot more injury issues going into the match on Saturday. Pervis Estupinan, Jakub Moder, and Julio Enciso, whose goal against City in May was named the season’s best goal, will not be playing for the Seagulls.
Additionally, Kaoru Mitoma returned early from duty with Japan due to illness, and Tariq Lamptey withdrew from the Ghana team over the international break due to a knock.
Prior to the match on Saturday, Roberto De Zerbi is anticipated to provide an update on both.
Only James Milner, an ex-City player who hasn’t played in more than a month due to a muscular problem, is a doubt going into the weekend.
Lamptey, Milner, and Mitoma (Brighton) are in doubt; De Bruyne (City) is out. Estupinan, Moder, and Enciso are from Brighton.
