Official: Barcelona starting XI to take on Athletic Club

Barcelona captain Marc-Andre ter Stegen

The match against Athletic Bilbao is Barcelona FC’s 10th match. With matchday 10 closer than ever, the Catalan giants still have a few things to consider.
Winning is important, but first you need to keep a few things in mind.

Ernesto Valverde and his Basque team travel to the Montjuic Stadium to face Xavi’s Barcelona.
Bilbao currently occupies the 6th place in the ranking. They have 17 points from 9 matches, 5 defeats and 2 draws.

And Barcelona are currently in 4th place.
After Real Madrid, Girona and Atletico Madrid, Barca will be hoping to pick up all three points against Bilbao to continue their fight for the Liga title. With that in mind, Xavi has revealed his starting XI to face Barca’s Basque rivals.

GOALKEEPER

In goal, as always, is Marc Andre Ter Stegen.
The German goalkeeper will start the game as Barcelona’s captain and will be responsible for leading his team to victory between the posts. His leadership and shot-stopping skills will be tested against Bilbao.
defense

In defense ahead of him, Barcelona will use Inigo Martinez and Andreas Christensen as two central defenders.
On the left and right flanks are Alejandro Balde and Joao Cancelo respectively.
partial protection

In the middle, Oriol Romeu will serve as the main hub of the team. He joins Ilkay Gundogan and Golden Boy winner Gavi.
The experienced midfielder’s calculated squad could be lethal against the might of Ernesto Valverde’s Athletic Bilbao.

Attack

In attack, Joao Felix starts as the team’s main striker. His impressive performances in Portugal will be crucial for him to continue his good form.

Alongside him, Ferran Torres will start as a right winger this time, and since Ramin Yamal is not ready to start yet, Fermin Lopez will surprisingly start as a left winger in attack.
