PSG’s qualification for the Champions League means that Man City may face them in the round of 16.

Prior to Monday morning’s Champions League last-16 draw, the treble winners could face Paris Saint-Germain, Inter Milan, or Lazio.

Before Monday morning’s last-16 draw, Manchester City now knows who they might face in the Champions League knockout stages.

On Wednesday night, the treble winners defeated Crvena Zvezda 3-2 to wrap up their Group G campaign. Micah Hamilton, Oscar Bobb, and England star Kalvin Phillips scored the goals to settle the score. As group winners, City had already confirmed their spot in the draw.

There were still some spots up for grabs in the other matches that happened on Wednesday night, but those unresolved matters have now been resolved. Among their possible rivals are PSG and Inter Milan, who City defeated in the championship game the previous year.

After City’s previous victory over RB Leipzig, Pep Guardiola addressed the draw prior to Crvena Zvezda’s victory. “If you talk about qualification, then it’s a great night,” Guardiola remarked. At the top of the group, we are there in February.

“The second leg will be here, but I’m not sure who we will play.”

In fact, the holders will have home advantage for the second leg against whoever they are paired with.

The draw is scheduled for Monday morning at 11 a.m. GMT, with the last-16 matches to be played in February.

Confirmed runners-up going into Wednesday’s action were FC Copenhagen, PSV Eindhoven, Napoli, Inter Milan, and RB Leipzig. Since they were in the same group as City, they couldn’t be drawn against them. Lazio, PSG, and FC Porto then joined them; all of them could now play against City.

Potential opponents of City in the Round of 16;

FC Copenhagen (A group)

Group B: PSV Eindhoven

Napoli in Group C

Group D: Inter Milan

Lazio (Elite Division)

Group F: Paris Saint-Germain

FC Porto (Head H)
