Kevin De Bruyne provides an updated schedule for Manchester City’s return.

Star midfielder Kevin De Bruyne has provided Manchester City with new information regarding his anticipated return date from his hamstring surgery recuperation.

Throughout the first half of the current season, the Premier League champions have had to adjust to the 32-year-old’sextendedabsence. Pep Guardiola has provided a number of substitutes to take up the Belgian’s attacking midfield role.

To varied degrees of success, Phil Foden, Julian Alvarez, and Bernardo Silva have all played behind Erling Haaland so far this season, but no spectator can dispute that the Manchester City team could have been more formidable if Kevin De Bruyne had been in the starting lineup.

De Bruyne, however, has given the team an encouraging update on his recuperation from hamstring surgery he underwent during the summer, with a return date quickly approaching. This news will undoubtedly give a boost to everyone involved with City.

The Manchester City attacking midfielder stated in remarks echoed by The Guardian this week that his recuperation from surgery is “going really well” and that he anticipates playing again for Pep Guardiola’s team “closer to the new year.”

According to Kevin De Bruyne, “It’s going really well.” It was a serious injury, so I had surgery. However, the new year—his original return date—is drawing nearer. I’m doing great and I want to get back on the field soon.

“I’m sure I’ll be alright once I’m back on the pitch,” he said. All I want to do is keep getting better at football; that will suffice.

This weekend, Kevin De Bruyne is expected to return to the Manchester City team, but only as an observer for their FIFA Club World Cup campaign in Saudi Arabia. This is because the team is preparing for their semifinal matchup with Urawa Red Diamonds of Japan.

Manchester City will play in a grand final if they win in Jeddah on Tuesday night. Pep Guardiola’s team is trying to win the World Cup for the first time in the club’s storied history.

Erling Haaland, a Norwegian international who has been out of action for Pep Guardiola’s team due to a stress fracture in his foot, may be joining De Bruyne on the sidelines in the Middle East.
