One of the most intriguing players FC Barcelona has loaned out this season is Pablo Torre. Playing for the high-flying Girona, the young player has recently grown in importance to Michel despite not having much playing time in the past.
As SPORT has pointed out, Torre has been continuously learning and developing in 2023. The player’s dream of being successful with Barcelona was nearly unattainable due to the presence of players with far greater experience.
He made the decision to carry on growing and developing at a different club where there was less competition as a result.
The player decided to go to Girona and signed a one-year loan with the Catalan team. Girona, who is currently tied for first place in La Liga with Real Madrid, is playing incredibly well, proving that this was the right decision.
Although Ezoic Torre had a successful year-end, things were not always easy during his tenure at Girona. During the team’s preseason tour, he made an impression, but a knee injury forced him to miss time.
Even after Torre recovered, the coach found it challenging to get him back into the starting lineup because Michel’s team played so well in the following months.
As luck would have it, Torre’s increased playing time was made possible by another injury. Due to Yangel Herrera’s injury, Michel’s plans lost one of his key midfield players, but the Barcelona loanee was able to see a lot of action.
In addition to making an impact in Girona’s 2-1 victory over Valencia, he also started the game against Real Betis.
The teenage player made thirty appearances in official competition in 2023: nine with Barcelona, two with Barca Atletic, thirteen with Girona, and six more with the Spain U-21 squad. He played 1010 official minutes in total in 2023.
His first objective now, in 2024, would be to stay in Michel’s starting eleven. He will be trying to help the Spain U-21 squad get into the European Under-21 Championship in 2025. However, his ultimate, challenging, and crucial objective would be to establish himself as a key member of the Barcelona team.
