To address Mauricio Pochettino’s issue, Chelsea was given a surprising transfer option in Ivan Toney.

Although Nicolas Jackson and Armando Broja haven’t shown they can be reliable goal scorers for Chelsea this season, the team may have received a surprise January transfer to finish

To address their striker shortage, Chelsea may try to sign former Liverpool striker Roberto Firmino on a loan during the January transfer window. After finding it difficult to settle in at his new club in Saudi Arabia, the Brazilian forward is drawing interest from teams in the Premier League and Turkey.

Firmino’s eight years at Anfield came to an emotional end when he left Liverpool in the summer as a free agent. Along with Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane, the 32-year-old was an integral part of Jurgen Klopp’s team and vital to the Reds’ devastating attacking trio. During his time on Merseyside, he won every club trophy that was available to him.

Firmino can now be lent during the winter transfer window, according to an Evening Standard report. Chelsea might seize this chance to add a Premier League goal scorer who has track record of success in order to strengthen their attacking group.

According to the report, the 32-year-old has been linked to clubs in the Premier League and Turkey; however, the Saudi Arabian team will require a significant portion of his £326,000 weekly salary to be paid. Ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations, Nicolas Jackson recently reunited with his Senegalese teammates, but Christopher Nkunku is dealing with yet another injury setback.

With Armando Broja the only identifiable senior striker remaining in Mauricio Pochettino’s lineup, the Blues are left without a true star. Chelsea may have to wait until the summer to sign players like Victor Osimhen or Ivan Toney, despite their desperate need for a new striker.
