While his two matches with Inter Miami at La Liga FC Futures didn’t exactly set the world on fire, glimpses of his father’s magic were there. But Thiago admits there’s work to be done on his left foot! “[Playing] makes me more nervous than watching my father play. I’m not doing well with my left leg,” he confessed.
Die-hard Argentina fan? You bet! When asked about his national team preference, Thiago didn’t mince words: “I want to play with the Argentine team and I don’t think there is any way the Spanish team can convince me.”
But there’s another name on Thiago’s mind: Lamine Yamal. Perhaps someday, these future stars could light up the Camp Nou together? “One day I would love to play with Lamine Yamal,” Thiago said, hinting at a future with Barcelona.
Picking his father’s greatest goal wasn’t easy, but Thiago settled on a classic: the iconic header against Manchester United in the Champions League final.
With his early passion and a legendary name to live up to, Thiago Messi’s journey in football is sure to be one to watch. Will he become the next Messi, or forge his own path? Only time will tell, but one thing’s for sure: this young player has big dreams.
