Kyle Walker is determined to win back his wife, Annie Kilner, after their marriage faced turmoil due to his extramarital affair resulting in two children with Lauryn Goodman.
The Manchester City star, 34, admitted earlier this year to fathering children with Goodman during a brief fling. This revelation led to Walker and Annie pausing their marriage, with Walker moving out of their Cheshire home. However, recent reports suggest the couple is working to repair their relationship.
A source close to Walker previously stated that his interactions with Goodman “meant nothing” and were purely brief encounters when he was in the same area. Despite the marital pause, a friend from Cheshire has confirmed that Walker and Kilner are back on track.
Walker has expressed deep regret for his actions, saying, “What I’ve done is horrible and I take full responsibility. I made idiot choices and idiot decisions.”
Speaking to the Mirror, a source said, “Annie and Kyle are looking forward to a resolution of the whole situation and hope that this latest chapter brings them just that.” This comes after Walker appeared before the Royal Courts of Justice regarding his two children with Goodman.
The source added, “All they want is to work on their relationship, in private, to see what the future holds for them and their young family but have been unable to with the glare of the media – often led by Lauryn. Kyle has taken responsibility for what he called his ‘idiotic choices’ and will always provide for Lauryn’s children financially.” It’s reported that Walker purchased a home for Goodman and their two children.
However, due to Goodman’s actions, Walker has chosen not to have an emotional relationship with the children. The source explained, “Unfortunately, he has had to make the decision to not be involved in the children’s lives emotionally due to Lauryn’s behavior. He is fiercely protective of his four sons and they are only shared with the public when they are on the world stage supporting him throughout his football career.”
Walker and Annie agreed early on to protect their children’s privacy until they are old enough to decide for themselves. Walker came straight to London from Euro 2024, where he captained England in the final, determined to do right by all involved and end the drama.
During the Euros, Goodman made her Instagram public, sharing photos and videos of her children supporting Walker, often wearing “Daddy” kits. She was reportedly upset when Walker didn’t secure tickets for her and Kairo to attend any matches. Goodman later attended a match, sitting near Walker’s wife and children, but left early to avoid upsetting Kairo.
Walker and Kilner are focusing on their relationship and family, hoping to move forward from the past and find peace away from the media spotlight.
