Lauryn Goodman Faces Legal Defeat Against Kyle Walker in Child Support Battle
The long-standing legal clash between reality TV star Lauryn Goodman and Manchester City defender Kyle Walker over their children has reached a dramatic conclusion. Goodman, 33, suffered a “humiliating” defeat in court, with the judge criticizing her for treating Walker like an “open-ended chequebook.”
Walker, 34, responded to the ruling with a strongly-worded statement, accusing Goodman, with whom he shares two children, of “insatiable greed.” The Mirror has revealed explosive details from the trial, including Goodman’s ultimatum to expose Walker as the father unless he continued financial support and her extensive monetary demands.
Court Revelations
Goodman reportedly threatened to reveal Walker’s paternity if he didn’t continue paying. The judge noted, “The evidence before me has amply demonstrated that the mother was able to leverage these substantial increases by hinting that she would go public on the paternity issue and also threatening that if she did not get what she wanted, she would select a home a stone’s throw away from the father’s family home in Cheshire rather than in Sussex, an idea which she knew horrified the father.”
Direct Contact with Walker’s Wife
Goodman contacted Walker’s wife, Annie, directly, stating: “Hey it’s Lauryn. I just wanted to quickly tell you that Kyle is the father of our daughter.” The judge found that Goodman had “plainly no intention of keeping the matter secret,” and her actions caused significant distress to Annie Walker.
Manipulative Tactics
The judge also disclosed how Goodman sent a “series of text communications” to Walker’s neighbor, attempting to persuade them to record conversations to undermine Walker’s marriage. In one message, Goodman texted, “Ready to finish them,” indicating her intent to damage Walker’s marriage irreparably.
Financial Demands
Goodman’s demands included a £33,000 lump sum for air conditioning, a new car worth £70,000 every four years, and a £31,200 astroturf football pitch, justified by her daughter’s potential future as a footballer. The judge remarked, “Kinara has just turned one year old and is not yet walking…the mother surprisingly justified her demand for AstroTurf by saying that Kinara, by kicking a ball with her left foot from a crawling position, has shown a talent which may suggest a future career as a professional footballer qualified to become a ‘Lioness.'”
Character Assessment
The judge criticized Goodman for lacking a “good track record of telling the truth” and being “often difficult, unreasonable and demanding.” In contrast, Walker was described as a “perfectly straightforward witness [who] gave his answers in an even and thoughtful tone.”
Goodman’s net worth was revealed to be just £10,000 after accounting for £81,000 in debts, while Walker’s net worth exceeded £26m, including nearly £5m in cash, £9.5m in investments, and £1.2m in watches and cars.
Lauryn Goodman’s Response
In a statement, Goodman expressed her frustration with the proceedings, stating, “These have been difficult and stressful proceedings, which I had hoped would not be necessary. This has only ever been about the children and providing for their futures. I am a dedicated single mother and whilst my children will never have what their half siblings have, I have tried my best for my children and always will, no matter what.”
She thanked her legal team and the judge, emphasizing her commitment to securing her children’s future and looking forward to moving on with her life.
