“Pep Guardiola Drops Bold Verdict on Phil Foden’s Comeback: ‘I Have the Feeling!'”

Pep Guardiola expressed his delight with Phil Foden’s resurgence as the Manchester City star begins to regain his top form. After a slow start to the season, hampered by illness, Foden is finding his rhythm again, contributing significantly in City’s 4-0 Champions League win over Slovan Bratislava.

Foden, who was pivotal in City’s Premier League triumph last season, winning three major individual awards, has struggled to hit the same heights this campaign. However, in only his second start of the season, the 24-year-old delivered a goal and an assist, showing flashes of his brilliance.

Despite his solid performance, Foden admitted he’s not quite at his peak yet, and Guardiola agrees. The City boss noted that Foden has missed some chances this season that he would have buried last year, but he’s encouraged by the improvement in the player’s recent outings.

“He scored a fantastic goal,” Guardiola said. “He had chances against Inter and Newcastle that would’ve been goals last season. He’s started not just shooting but passing the ball towards the post.”

Guardiola pointed out Foden’s newfound composure in front of goal, explaining that sometimes the simple pass is all that’s needed: “You don’t always have to shoot—just make a simple pass to the side. Phil can do that. His second goal today was perfect for that approach.”

Guardiola sees Foden steadily climbing back to his best and is eager to have him firing on all cylinders. “I can see him improving step by step. Phil is really important for us. We need him a lot, and he’s getting back to his best,” he added.

As City continue their quest for European glory, having a fully-fit and in-form Foden could be crucial in maintaining their momentum.
