LIVE INJURY UPDATES: LIONS FACE DEVASTATING BLOWS AFTER BILLS LOSS
Following the Detroit Lions’ heartbreaking 48-42 loss to the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, head coach Dan Campbell addressed the media with grim updates on key injuries. Interior defensive lineman Alim McNeill, cornerback Carlton Davis III, and cornerback Khalil Dorsey all suffered significant setbacks during the game, leaving the team reeling as they fight for their playoff spot.
Campbell didn’t mince words about the status of McNeill and Davis.
“I don’t feel good about either one of those guys,” Campbell said. “Normally, if I’m saying I don’t feel good, that means not good for the rest of the year. So, don’t feel good about it.”
What Happened on the Field?
Carlton Davis III was sidelined in the second quarter after suffering a jaw injury while attempting a tackle. Davis was awkwardly wrapped up on the play, forcing him out of the game early.
Meanwhile, Alim McNeill sustained a knee injury in the third quarter while applying pressure on Bills quarterback Josh Allen. McNeill landed awkwardly and was visibly in pain as he limped off the field. Neither player returned to the game.
Adding to the Lions’ misfortune, Khalil Dorsey, who stepped in for Davis, suffered a severe ankle injury late in the first half. Dorsey was carted off the field and transported to a local hospital. Campbell confirmed post-game that Dorsey is officially out for the rest of the season.
Looking Ahead
While Campbell acknowledged the injuries as a major setback, he emphasized that more details about McNeill and Davis would be available on Monday.
The loss of these defensive stalwarts couldn’t come at a worse time for the Lions, who are battling for both the NFC North title and a spot in the playoffs. As the postseason approaches, these injuries will test the depth and resilience of Detroit’s roster.
