Breaking news for South Carolina fans as they add a crucial new piece to their roster for next season: Rahsul Faison, a talented running back, has transferred from Utah State.
The 5-foot-11, 200-pound Faison made his decision after a visit to USC on January 6-7, having also considered offers from powerhouse programs like Florida State, Alabama, and North Carolina.
A native of Pennsylvania, Faison’s journey to South Carolina includes time at two junior colleges and a season at Marshall before landing at Utah State in 2023. Over his two years with the Aggies, Faison accumulated an impressive 1,845 yards and 13 touchdowns. He also posted seven games with over 100 rushing yards, including a career-high 191 yards against Hawaii this season.
This past year, Faison rushed for 1,109 yards and eight touchdowns, averaging 5.6 yards per carry. He was also a factor in the passing game, with 22 receptions for 99 yards. His addition is significant for the Gamecocks, as Faison becomes the first running back to join the 2025 class, which now consists of 36 newcomers.
Expect Faison to bring even more firepower to South Carolina’s backfield for the upcoming season.
