Live Update: Jake Bentley Takes the Helm at Nation Ford High School
FORT MILL, S.C. — A familiar name in South Carolina football has taken on a new challenge. Former Gamecock quarterback Jake Bentley was officially introduced as the head varsity football coach for Nation Ford High School on Wednesday, Jan. 8.
Bentley shared his excitement for the role on social media, writing, “Blessed and thankful to begin this new chapter as Head Coach for Falcons Football. Incredible first day! We are going to build something special here!!”
From College Star to High School Leader
Bentley’s name carries significant weight in South Carolina athletics. A four-year player at the University of South Carolina, Bentley was the starting quarterback for three of those seasons.

His sophomore year in 2017 stands out as his best, where he led the Gamecocks to an impressive 9-4 record, capped by a win in the prestigious Outback Bowl.
However, injuries derailed his momentum in the following two seasons, prompting him to transfer to Utah in 2020 to finish his college career.
Building the Falcons’ Future
Now stepping into his first head coaching role, Bentley brings not only his experience as a player but also the drive to create a winning culture at Nation Ford High School.
His enthusiasm has already set the tone for what’s to come. With a history of overcoming challenges and achieving success, Bentley appears ready to guide the Falcons to new heights.
Stay tuned as we follow his journey and the rise of Nation Ford Football under his leadership.
