“USC Lands Dynamic Boost at WR: Boise State Transfer Prince Strachan Joins the Trojans”

Live Update: USC Bolsters Receiving Corps with Boise State Transfer Strachan

The USC Trojans have added another weapon to their offense with the transfer of Strachan, a towering 6-foot-5, 211-pound wide receiver with two years of eligibility remaining. The former Boise State standout made his mark last season, recording 25 catches for 304 yards and a touchdown, while playing a key role in Boise State’s impressive run to the College Football Playoffs.

In his two collegiate seasons, Strachan has amassed 37 receptions for 578 yards and three touchdowns, showcasing immense potential. His journey to football is a unique one, as he grew up in The Bahamas and only began playing the sport in 2019 after moving to the United States.

Last season, Strachan delivered several strong performances, including:

  • 4 catches for 58 yards vs. Utah State
  • 4 catches for 49 yards and a touchdown vs. San Diego State
  • 4 catches for 40 yards in Boise State’s College Football Playoff loss to Penn State

Revamping the Trojans’ Wide Receiver Room
The Trojans are rebuilding their receiving corps after losing four of their top six pass-catchers from last season:

  • Zachariah Branch (47 catches, 503 yards, 1 TD) transferred to Georgia.
  • Kyron Hudson (38-462-3) transferred to Penn State.
  • Duce Robinson (23-396-5) transferred to Florida State.
  • Kyle Ford (26-317-3) graduated.

Returning to lead the group are Makai Lemon (52 catches, 764 yards, 3 TDs) and Ja’Kobi Lane (43 catches, 525 yards, 12 TDs). Beyond them, the depth chart is wide open, with Strachan poised to compete for significant playing time.

Competition Heats Up
Joining Strachan in the battle for roles in USC’s passing attack are:

  • Veteran Jay Fair
  • Redshirt freshman Xavier Jordan
  • Incoming freshmen Corey Simms, Romero Ison, and Tanook Hines
  • Tight ends and running backs also expected to contribute

A Busy Transfer Portal Season for USC
Strachan becomes the 10th transfer addition for the Trojans this offseason, following the recent signing of JUCO running back Waymond Jordan. With coach Lincoln Riley at the helm, USC continues to reload its roster as it eyes a strong showing in the upcoming season.
