Oklahoma’s Future Star QB Makes Stunning Move—Why Jaden O’Neal Is Relocating Ahead of His Senior Season

Oklahoma QB Commit Jaden O’Neal Makes Bold Move, Transfers to Play Senior Season Near Future Home

Jaden O’Neal, Oklahoma’s prized 2026 quarterback commit, is making a major move ahead of his senior year. The California native has officially enrolled at Mustang High School in Oklahoma, bringing him just 30 miles away from his future home in Norman.

The news was first reported by Oklahoma play-by-play voice Toby Rowland, who broke the development on Thursday afternoon:

“Sources tell me that OU 2026 QB commit Jaden O’Neal (Narbonne HS, California) has enrolled at Mustang High School in Oklahoma. He will start classes next week.”

O’Neal, previously at Narbonne High School in Harbor City, California, stands at an impressive 6-foot-3, 200 pounds. His decision to relocate this early—months before he can officially sign in December—further solidifies his commitment to the Sooners.

The elite quarterback has been locked in with Oklahoma since June, choosing the Sooners over powerhouse programs like Ohio State, Auburn, and Texas. Per 247Sports Composite rankings, O’Neal is currently the No. 137 overall player and No. 11 quarterback in the nation for the 2026 class. Notably, he now holds the title of top-ranked high school prospect in Oklahoma.

With O’Neal’s move, Brent Venables and his staff gain even more confidence in retaining their highly-touted QB of the future. He’s currently one of four commits in Oklahoma’s 2026 recruiting class, a number expected to grow significantly in the coming months.

For Sooners fans, this relocation only fuels excitement—O’Neal is already making Oklahoma his home.
