Although the 2025 NFL Draft just wrapped up this past weekend, it’s never too soon to look ahead to the next wave of talent. The South Carolina Gamecocks have several players poised to make the jump to the pros in 2026 — and one name already turning heads is quarterback LaNorris Sellers.
In the latest 2026 NFL Mock Draft by CBS Sports, Sellers is projected as the third quarterback off the board. Texas’ Arch Manning is slotted at No. 1 overall, followed by Penn State’s Drew Allar at No. 2, with Sellers landing at No. 6 overall to the Las Vegas Raiders.
Josh Edwards of CBS Sports wrote,
“Geno Smith could start and play most, if not all, of the 2026 season before giving way to Sellers. Smith will turn 35 during the upcoming season and quarterbacks do not often perform at a high level this late into their careers. Sellers showed a lot of growth for the Gamecocks this past season and may still have another level to take his game.”
After a breakout year, Sellers has firmly established himself as one of college football’s rising stars. It’s almost easy to forget that 2024 marked his first season as the full-time starter, given how poised and polished his performances were. Now, heading into his second season, Sellers brings both valuable experience and continued development — setting the stage for what could be another explosive year.
