Live Feed: Trackhouse Racing Set for Sensational Rolex 24 Debut with Star-Studded Lineup
Trackhouse Racing is gearing up for a groundbreaking start to their 2024 season, diving into the prestigious Rolex 24 at Daytona with a Chevrolet Corvette in collaboration with TF Sport. This marks a historic debut in IMSA for both Trackhouse and TF Sport, setting the stage for what promises to be an electrifying entry into sportscar racing.
The team boasts an impressive driver lineup featuring Shane van Gisbergen, Connor Zilisch, Scott McLaughlin, and Ben Keating, bringing a mix of experience and championship pedigree to the table.
A Closer Look at the All-Star Roster
Shane van Gisbergen, a standout in motorsport, is making his IMSA comeback for the first time since 2020’s Rolex 24. In the interim, the New Zealander has dominated multiple disciplines, winning two Australian Supercars championships, three Bathurst 1000s, and earning a full-time NASCAR Cup Series seat for 2025 after dazzling in his early appearances.
Teaming up with him is rising star Connor Zilisch, who has already left his mark in the IMSA paddock. A Rolex 24 class winner in the LMP2 category, Zilisch has also shined in the Mazda MX-5 Cup and delivered a stunning victory at Watkins Glen during his Xfinity Series debut.
Scott McLaughlin, affectionately known as “Scotty Mac,” brings a wealth of experience from his time in Australian Supercars, where he captured three consecutive championships from 2018 to 2020. McLaughlin also boasts a win in IMSA’s LMP2 class at Sebring, making him a formidable addition to the team.
Rounding out the lineup is IMSA veteran Ben Keating, whose resume includes two LMP2 championships and a GTD class victory at the Rolex 24 in 2015. Keating has a proven history with TF Sport, having won the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the WEC title with the team in 2022. He followed that with back-to-back wins at Le Mans and a WEC season crown in 2023, making him the team’s most experienced competitor.
A Vision Realized
For Trackhouse Racing, this entry fulfills a long-held ambition. Team founder Justin Marks, whose own racing career began with the 2001 Rolex 24 and peaked with a win in 2009, expressed his excitement.
“Participating in the Rolex 24 has been a dream since the inception of Trackhouse Racing,” Marks shared in a press release. “We wanted to ensure we could enter with a top-notch partner in Chevrolet and TF Sport, as well as a driver lineup that could compete for the victory. We feel like this group we’ve put together can bring home the trophy.”
Marks also highlighted the team’s global aspirations: “We set out to become an international company with a global brand, and we took a big step in 2024 by adding MotoGP. Today marks another milestone as Trackhouse enters one of the world’s most prestigious motorsports races with two Americans (Zilisch and Keating) and two New Zealanders (van Gisbergen and McLaughlin) behind the wheel.”
Eyes on the Future
For now, the team’s focus is solely on the Rolex 24, but fans are already speculating if this venture could lead to additional IMSA races in the future. With such a powerhouse lineup and Trackhouse’s proven track record of innovation, this debut could be the start of an exciting new chapter for the organization.
