Mikel Arteta used a “secret agent” to entice the Premier League champion from Man City to Arsenal.

Oleksandr Zinchenko was acquired by Arsenal in the summer of 2022, and since then, the club has advanced significantly.

Arsenal can thank a “secret agent” for helping them acquire the Ukrainian footballer from Manchester City.

Oleksandr Zinchenko was enticed away from Manchester City and persuaded to join Arsenal by Mikel Arteta using a “secret agent.”.

Since moving to the Gunners in a £32 million transfer last summer, the Ukrainian has been a revelation.

When Zinchenko was at City, he won four Premier League championships, but he bravely chose to work on Arteta’s project in order to have a bigger impact.

It’s safe to say that the decision has since paid off, with Zinchenko flourishing in an inverted left-back position while narrowly missing winning the Premier League last season.

However, he has since admitted in an interview with Footballers Lives on TikTok that his manager used cunning tactics to sign him, ambushing the 26-year-old by inviting a surprise guest to his house during the crucial negotiations.

“Mikel [Arteta] came to my house with a general director,” the man remarked. We had a discussion about how they perceive me in the club, including what role I hold there as well as the club’s mission and organizational structure.

“After that, we were sitting outside because the weather was so pleasant.

Someone rings my bell abruptly. I apologized to the men in the room. I have to open the door in case delivery or someone else is there.'”.

“And there was just Gabriel Jesus behind my gate, and I just said, “Nah, is this a joke?,” so the secret agent came to my house, and we had a good conversation, all of us,” Zinchenko continued. That was definitely a good one.”.

Just a few weeks prior, Zinchenko’s close friend and fellow striker Jesus moved from City to Arsenal for similar reasons.

In north London, both players excelled right away, immediately raising the team’s standing.

However, they have also experienced setbacks due to injuries at different times. The Brazilian forward missed most of the previous season because of a serious knee injury, and he was again ruled out in the first week of August.

Zinchenko, meanwhile, has experienced sporadic aches and pains.

The two ex-City players have played less than 130 minutes of Premier League football together this year because of recent setbacks.
