One Arsenal player is singled out by a PSV star as being “more expensive than our entire squad

In Wednesday’s 4-0 thrashing at the Emirates Stadium, PSV Eindhoven star Joey Veerman claimed that the acquisition of Declan Rice by Arsenal demonstrated the contrast between the two Champions League opponents.

Declan Rice made his long-awaited debut in the UCL alongside players like Bukayo Saka in midweek, and he made sure to do it in style with a performance deserving of the biggest stage in European football.

The fact that no one is bringing up Rice’s £100 million price tag these days is evidence of how impressive he has been since joining Arsenal from West Ham United.
Rice, the club’s record signing, continued to be in top form against PSV, with a signature line-breaking pass setting up Bukayo Saka’s early goal.

PSV  Veerman also made a point of highlighting the financial gap between Arsenal and the Eredivisie leaders despite his determination to avoid offering any justifications for a lopsided PSV loss.

He claims that Rice cost Mikel Arteta more than Peter Bosz’s entire roster combined.

In Arsenal’s victory, Declan Rice shines.

According to Veerman in an interview with Ziggo Sport, “(the defeat) is not very strange.”.
This team, in my opinion, is the second most expensive in the entire world.
.

“You’d rather not say it as a football player, but you know it can happen.
For 120 million euros, they obtained a midfielder. He costs more than the whole of our team combined!

The situation is what it is; there are no justifications.”.

Leandro Trossard, Gabriel Jesus, and Martin Odegaard all scored at the Emirates, three dead-eyed goals that left PSV goalie Walter Benitez grasping for air in desperation.

Mikel Arteta’s team pounded PSV.

Veerman continues, “We simply enjoy possessing the ball.
“That is a little trickier against Arsenal than in the Eredivisie.
We anticipated that Arsenal would be the superior team.
We shouldn’t act as though this (defeat) just occurred without warning.”.

In early October, on the second day of play, Arsenal will visit Lens.
On Wednesday, Lens and Sevilla drew 1-1, with Lens finishing second in Ligue 1 last year.
