Pep Guardiola says he is “angry” with Rodri and that the player “has to learn” after receiving a red card.

He will now miss three games, one of which will be played against a title rival.

Pep Guardiola has acknowledged that he is upset with Rodri after the midfielder was dismissed during Manchester City’s match against Nottingham Forest.

The Spaniard, who last season completed the treble for the team by scoring the game-winning goal in the Champions League final, was sent off for grabbing Forest’s Morgan Gibbs-White by the neck, which would have resulted in an immediate red card.

Rodri will no longer play for Man City in their upcoming three games against Newcastle in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday, against Wolves the following Saturday, or against Arsenal on the road on October 8.

As a result, Pep was extremely disappointed and irritated with Rodri.
He admitted that he was upset with the 27-year-old’s rash response and said that he “has to learn.”.

It’s been eight years since I’ve been here; this is not my first season. We are really, really familiar with one another.

As you can see, Guardiola was not only upset with Rodri’s abusive behavior, but also with referee Antony Taylor’s performance on the day.
He claimed that a challenge on Haaland in the opening moments of the game should have resulted in a yellow card but was not, while City center-back Manuel Akanji was later cautioned for a similar challenge.

He continued by saying that he had advised everyone to “be careful” as they entered the locker room for halftime.
However, as soon as play resumed, a few rough shoves from Gibbs-White were more than enough to send Rodri over the edge and cause him to literally turn red.

Although the Catalan claimed that his team played the game flawlessly for the first 30 minutes, he added that Taylor’s officiating caused “chaos” on the field and “changed the way the game was played.”.

Despite maintaining that a “three-game [match ban] is too many,” he said he wouldn’t personally bother appealing the decision, though he will need to first speak with the rest of the club.

He has a lot to learn.
He must pick up new skills.

Although he may not be as skilled in the shadowy arts as his predecessor Fernandinho, Rodri has nonetheless established himself as the go-to player for breaking up play and has received just 26 yellow cards in his four years at the Etihad.

The CDM will be able to play for City against RB Leipzig in the Champions League on Wednesday, but he won’t be able to join the Premier League squad again until Brighton on October 21.
