The Premier League is the wealthiest league in the world, and stars from Manchester City, Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester United are among the highest-paid athletes.
Over the last ten years, wages have increased significantly as commercial agreements and revenue streams for Premier League clubs continue to soar.
The top 10 players in the Premier League in terms of salary in 2023–2024 have been compiled using data from Capology.
10. Kai Havertz, £280,000; Arsenal.
One of the list’s more contentious additions, Havertz signed a hugely lucrative contract with Arsenal this summer after moving from Chelsea across London.
The 24-year-old has been deployed on the left side of a midfield three by Mikel Arteta, with varying degrees of success.
However, we believe Havertz has more to offer while wearing an Arsenal jersey, and he will undoubtedly need to step up if he wants to earn back his £280,000 weekly salary.
9. Bernardo Silva (Man City, £350,000).
Long-running rumors of Silva’s impending departure were put to rest this summer when he agreed to a new contract that will keep him at the club through 2026.
One of the highest-paid players in the league thanks to his new contract, he now earns a respectable £300,000 per week. We cannot assert that he did not merit that either.
Silva is without a doubt one of the best midfielders in Europe and has been an integral part of many of Man City’s championship-winning campaigns.
We are pleased that he will continue to play in the Premier League for some time to come.
8. Jack Grealish ($300k; Manchester City).
A lot of people scoffed when Man City paid a record sum for Grealish in the summer of 2021.
His sluggish transition into life in Manchester only made things worse and increased the pressure.
Two years later, Grealish appears to have undergone a transformation.
The 28-year-old, who was a crucial part of Man City’s treble-winning campaign, is thought to make £300,000 per week for his services.
7. Marcus Rashford (Man Utd, $300k).
Rashford signed a new contract with the team in the summer following a successful 2022–23 season in which he scored 30 goals in all competitions.
He now has a contract that keeps him at Old Trafford through 2028, and he will be paid £300,000 per week.
Rashford is under contract for a longer period of time than any other player on this list, with five years remaining in his initial agreement.
6. Raheem Sterling (£325,000; Chelsea).
A lot of deadwood was successfully removed from Chelsea’s wage bill over the summer.
One of Todd Boehly’s first additions to the club came in the summer of 2022 with the signing of Sterling.
Sterling wants to succeed under Mauricio Pochettino this time after a trying debut season in London.
This season, he has already scored two league goals, which is only a third of what he did the previous year.
With a weekly salary of £325,000, the 28-year-old is Chelsea’s highest earner.
Sterling will undoubtedly play a key role in Chelsea’s ability to return to competing at the top of the table.
5. Raphael Varane (Man Utd, £340,000).
Varane has been a reliable option for United at the back when they have been able to get him on the field for extended stretches of time. The Frenchman, who has teamed up superbly with Lisandro Martinez, is unquestionably a member of Erik ten Hag’s starting XI.
However, the former Real Madrid player has endured a number of injuries thus far in his Premier League career. Varane has missed 35 games due to injury since signing with the Reds in 2021.
Ten Hag will want to keep him on the field as frequently as possible given that he is earning a £340,000 weekly salary.
4. Mohamed Salah (Liverpool; $350,000).
Salah earns reportedly £350,000 per week, making him Liverpool’s highest-paid player.
Even though that sum is sizable, it will probably be dwarfed by what clubs in Saudi Arabia would be prepared to pay him.
Liverpool fans will be happy to have him on board for the time being while the exit talk continues to rumble away in the background.
He’s 31 years old but doesn’t appear to be slowing down much, so he’ll probably be near the top of the scorers list once more this season.
3. Casemiro (Man Utd; £350,000).
The Brazilian holding midfielder made a stellar reputation when he joined the Reds from Real Madrid last summer.
He had a productive debut season in English football and quickly won over United supporters.
He is undoubtedly being paid well by the club, but that is to be expected from a five-time champion of the Champions League. Casemiro is currently United’s highest-paid player, earning a weekly salary of £350,000.
2. Erling Haaland makes £375k at Man City.
We shudder to think how much Haaland made last season as a result of his outstanding 52-goal season because he almost certainly has a lucrative goal bonus built into his contract.
Despite the fact that £375,000 per week is an absurd sum of money in the context of football players’ salaries, Haaland is totally worth it.
He still has plenty left in the tank after his goals propelled Man City to a record-breaking treble season.
1.Man City’s Kevin De Bruyne earns £400k.
It’s a real shame that De Bruyne’s injuries prevented us from seeing much of him this season, but he will undoubtedly play a significant role in the second half of the campaign.
The playmaker from Belgium has been among the best in the Premier League for the better part of a decade and is more than deserving of the title of highest-paid player.
