Chelsea and Liverpool reach a €120 million deal: Reds haven’t reached a personal agreement.

In the summer transfer window, Chelsea has moved first to acquire forward Victor Osimhen from Napoli, agreeing to pay the Serie A team €120 million.

The 25-year-old has been linked to Liverpool since October 2023, when a report claimed the Reds and Osimhen had worked out a personal terms agreement.

Sport Witness quoted Valter De Maggio as saying to Televomero, “There was the inclusion of another club, from the Premier League.” I am referring to Liverpool.

There would be regular communication, but I recently discovered that there would also be agreements in place.

“To be clear, Napoli would not be involved in the agreements; they would only be between the Reds and the player. Although we can’t be certain, I hope Laurentiis will be able to hold Victor Osimhen until at least June.

Nevertheless, despite sincere Liverpool interest, this turned out to be untrue.

Despite FFP pressure, Chelsea is making a bold move to sign Osimhen.

The American owner, Todd Boehly, 50, has spent more than £1 billion on transfer fees since taking over from Roman Abramovich, and he may spend even more.

Even though the London club has discovered “contract loopholes” that could increase if they spend as much as is being reported, they are still under pressure to fulfill their FFP obligations.

Chelsea is willing to fulfill Osimhen’s contract’s €120 million release clause, according to Il Mattino, an Italian newspaper, via Calcio Napoli.

They intend to sign the Nigerian striker during the summer transfer window, and Liverpool won’t be up against them in this deal, as of right now.
