A Chelsea player just updated his Instagram with a two-word injury statement.

Robert Sanchez of Chelsea gave a brief injury update this morning on social media.

Robert Sanchez, a 26-year-old goalkeeper for the Blues, has been sidelined by injury for more than a month.

Due to a knee injury, the Spanish gloveman has missed the last nine games in all competitions.

To be fair, Djordje Petrovic, 24, has performed admirably since taking over as the starting keeper.

Now that he has both senior goalkeepers available and healthy for the second half of the season, we’re even wondering what Chelsea head coach Mauricio Pochettino will do.

We’re still awaiting word on when Sanchez will be allowed to rejoin the field.

On Saturday morning, the £25 million goalkeeper (Sky Sports) announced on social media that his return is almost certain.

Sanchez posted on his Instagram story, saying, “Nearly there.”

By the way, the narrative featured a picture of him with a leg protector on.

Hopefully, Pochettino will provide us with a thorough explanation of Sanchez’s fitness before Tuesday night.

In the second leg of the Carabao Cup semi-finals, Chelsea will play Middlesbrough on Tuesday. After the first leg, Chelsea currently trails 1-0 on aggregate.

We believe that regardless of Sanchez’s injury status, Petrovic should start in between the sticks for this important cup match. Pochettino’s lineup is starting to show some consistency, so their four victories in their last five games might not be an anomaly.

According to a recent report from The Evening Standard, Chelsea is extremely content with Sanchez and Petrovic as their primary goalkeeping options going forward. But soon, one of them is going to be extremely disappointed.

Although Petrovic has made the most of his opportunity, Sanchez has held the starting position and been chosen as the team’s first choice goalkeeper this season.
