“Exciting Update! Man City Stars Celebrate Rapid Progress on North Stand Expansion”

Man City’s North Stand Expansion Reaches Major Milestone Ahead of 2025/26 Season

Manchester City‘s ambitious stadium expansion is making significant strides as the North Stand structure has now been attached to the existing stadium. The project, which will boost the Etihad Stadium’s capacity to over 60,000, is part of a broader £300 million redevelopment plan designed to transform the venue into a world-class destination.

The club is aiming to complete the expanded seating and facilities in time for the 2025/26 season. First-team stars Rico Lewis and Nico O’Reilly celebrated the milestone by meeting a family of four generations of City supporters and sharing updates on the progress.

When finished, the upgraded North Stand will include 3,000 rail seats in the new top tier, alongside expanded hospitality spaces to enhance the matchday experience. Beyond the seating increase, the redevelopment will feature a 3,000-capacity fan zone, a 400-bed hotel, a new club shop, and a museum. These additions aim to complement the Co-Op Live entertainment venue and establish the Etihad as a major tourist hub.

Ed Dalton, City’s director of infrastructure development, expressed enthusiasm about the progress. “It’s an exciting moment in our building programme for the new steel structure to be attached and bolted to the existing North Stand,” he said. “Fans and visitors can see the extended upper tier progressing, which really gives a sense of the scale of the expansion and how the inclusion of 3,000 new rail seats will add to the electric atmosphere on matchdays.”

This latest milestone highlights City’s commitment to enhancing both the fan experience and the club’s global appeal. As the redevelopment advances, supporters and visitors can look forward to an even more vibrant and dynamic Etihad Stadium in the near future.
