Tessa Johnson and Zachary Davis Share Sweet TikTok Moment as Their Basketball Journeys Head in New Directions

South Carolina guard Tessa Johnson and Michigan transfer Zachary Davis are once again stealing hearts on social media, giving fans another playful look into their relationship via TikTok.

Known for their charming and lighthearted posts, the couple recently uploaded a short clip from a casual walk together — both dressed in matching black outfits. In true TikTok fashion, they kept the vibe fun, using slick hand transitions to flip the camera back and forth.

my boy 🖤,” Johnson captioned the video on Wednesday, keeping things simple and sweet.

Johnson’s Rising Role at South Carolina

Tessa Johnson, who just wrapped up her sophomore season with the Gamecocks, was a valuable contributor during their run to the NCAA Tournament championship game, where they finished as runners-up. She averaged 8.3 points in 21.1 minutes across 36 games, providing scoring spark off the bench.

Although she didn’t start any games in the 2024–25 season, Johnson is expected to take on a larger role next year — especially with major roster changes, including the departure of standout guard MiLaysia Fulwiley to LSU.

Since arriving at South Carolina in 2023, Johnson has made an immediate impact. She’s played in two straight national title games, and during her freshman year, helped secure the championship win, dropping a career-high 19 points to lead the team in the final.

Davis Heads to Memphis for Final Season

Zachary Davis, Johnson’s boyfriend and former Gamecock, is preparing for a fresh start at the University of Memphis, officially announced on Wednesday.

After three seasons with the South Carolina men’s team, Davis appeared in 95 games, starting 38 of them. He averaged 8.2 points, 4.6 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and 1.1 steals in 26.4 minutes per game during the last campaign.

With one year of eligibility remaining, Davis brings experience and versatility to a Memphis Tigers program aiming to push deeper into March Madness — hoping for their first NCAA Tournament second-round appearance since 2022.

Basketball and Bond Goals

The pair first met while both playing for South Carolina, with Johnson joining the women’s team a year after Davis began his collegiate career. Their bond has continued to grow both on and off the court — and fans can’t get enough of their journey together.
