Bukayo Saka’s recurring injury is updated by the Arsenal manager; it might be time to replace the star.

Bukayo Saka of Arsenal

Since the previous season, Bukayo Saka of Arsenal has been plagued by recurrent Achilles injuries.

He remains a major concern for the game between Arsenal and Everton scheduled for September 17, 2023, as the issue persists.

With two goals and an assist in his four opening games, the young star made a great first impression during the previous season.

During the break in international play, he was tasked with protecting Gareth Southgate’s England team as they played Scotland and Ukraine.

Saka was benched for the remainder of the 150th anniversary heritage game against Steve Clark’s team after participating for 85 minutes in a draw with a score of 1-1.

Star Player for Arsenal Bukayo Saka

Saka has established himself as a valuable asset for Arsenal, but he is again hindered by injury.

Saka is reportedly still afflicted with the Achilles problem that previously prevented him, according to the reports.

The winger was rested by Southgate, and manager Mikel Arteta hopes that this will have accelerated Saka’s recovery in time for the upcoming Arsenal game.

Having lost a star, has Arsenal found a replacement?

This summer, Arsenal already lost the defensive option Thomas Partey and Jurrien Timber to injuries.

Saka’s absence from the season, whether temporarily or permanently, could be fatal for the team.

The 22-year-old star is the Spaniard’s only option, but there are still some alternatives.

Saka might have the ideal replacement this year in Leandro Trossard, who has only logged 78 minutes for the Gunners in all competitions.

In his 20 league appearances during his final campaign with the Gunners, Trossard only registered one goal, but his ten assists were seen as crucial in keeping the competition alive, putting him just one assist behind Saka with 25 fewer 90-minute games.

Trossard outperformed Saka in passing accuracy over the course of the previous season and produced more goal actions per 90 minutes (0.87 to 0.079) than Saka.

Compared to Trossard from last year, Saka has actually played nearly 2,000 more minutes. However, with the 5-0 goal the Belgian international scored against Estonia on September 13, 2023, Trossard has established himself as a serious contender to replace the 22-year-old star if he must miss a significant amount of time.

Trossard has yet to score a league goal for Arsenal this year, but if Saka misses the upcoming game against Everton on September 17, 2023, he might be signed for his 11th start with the club.

Arsenal may need to look for a new star player this season.
